Samsung’s track record with monthly security updates has not been so great when it comes to unlocked models as of late. You’d think that unlocked models would have the best support, but that’s currently not the case.
Thankfully, that should now change. Samsung “have now resolved the challenges” that prevented monthly updates and will provide them for unlocked Galaxy devices in the US. This statement was given in response to the slow updates to the unlocked Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.
The March security update will be coming soon for unlocked devices in the US, and the monthly updates should continue from here. Hopefully Samsung sticks to their word.
